In my recent Are Our Educational Efforts Backfiring post I mentioned some concerns I have about the educational efforts offered by some kink clubs, organizations and events. I still stand by those concerns and I think you’ll see by the incredibly thoughtful and plentiful comments that post generated that it’s a hot topic these days.
The folks at Leatherati have noticed the concerns raised by me and others and, in the interest of fostering discussion on the topic, are hosting a Leatherati Town Hall which they describe this way.
“What’s up with BDSM education?” is our topic for this edition of LTH. For better or worse, many of us out there have attended classes on flogging, bondage, power exchange or other BDSM topics. Maybe you even teach classes or produce an event with an education track.
