Learning The Ropes

The original edition (Version 1.0) of my book Learning The Ropes: A Basic Guide to S/M Lovemaking has been out of print for quite a while. I am currently finishing up a second edition (Version 2.0) of this book, but I have recently had many requests for the book. So I am making the original 1992 version (slightly revised) available in PDF format. Anyone who buys this version from this site will automatically receive the new Version 2.0 in the same PDF format when it’s published.

Over 50,000 copies of the book sold since it debuted in 1992 and it seemed appropriate to bring it back. But the book is somewhat dated and needs to be made more current. Though it was a bit dated in places, the vast majority of the book is as relevant today as it was when it was originally written.

The Version 1.0 PDF document is formatted so that it can be easily printed on 8 ½” x 11″ paper (although I encourage digital reading when possible to save trees). Rather than stick to the traditional book formatting guidelines (margins, pagination, and so on), I’ve formatted this version to make maximum use of the space on the page while still being highly readable. This at least reduces the amount of paper used should you desire to print it for reading.

I have not put any digital rights management (DRM) protection on this PDF document. I am hoping the honor system will work and you will not distribute this book, in the PDF form or any other form, to anyone who has not purchased it from this site. If someone wants the book, please encourage them to visit this site and buy it.
